Many dogs are unfortunate and never find a loving home they so desperately deserve. This page will list those who were fortunate enough to find one.
If you are a new owner, we encourage you to comment below and tell us who went home with you. Please contact us for a free training session on "How to Speak Dog". We hope to build a network of people who enjoy making their pooches part of their life.
Camilla is Charles brother and was adopted as a companion for Scooby. Although Scooby went missing, Camilla is now in her new home and enjoys new toys, walks at the lake, play sessions in the yard and much more.
Charles found a great new home with two young people in Addison who are excited to start working with him in the home and outside the home. We hope to see Charles soon at the CGC/TDI classes upon completion of his in-home training.
Congratulations!
It has been awhile actually since Roger was adopted but since we just got the site started, it is worth mentioning his name.
Roger came to the shelter and stayed for quite awhile. He and maverick were friends and both went to the fair together in the attempt to find a home.
Roger was a happy go lucky Rottie Mix. He was always eager to please and had a smile on his face. We spent quite a few hours walking in the sun during our lunches and he was happy to sniff and get away from the loud unhappy wavering at the shelter.
We became desperate in finding him a home and like Maverick even put him in the newspaper. This was his lucky venue home. A couple from the country called and drove quite aways to come meet him, only to decide on the spot that they wanted to take him home. He now lives on several acres in the country and we are sure he is happy with his new home.
Meet Bella. Bella was found on march 13, 2008 by a compassionate mercenary who was willing to take her in. Bella had just come out of the woods, completely starved and so weak she wasn't able to climb into the car herself.
These following pictures were taken the same night Bella was found. The vet confirmed not only a bad case of worms but also heartworms, a treatment she is not able to undergo yet because of her underweight and horrible health condition. While Bella is fighting to get better, we are asking you to help her by donating to her upcoming treatment. The treatment will cost about $600 and that does not include the cost for additional medications, and spaying costs.
Bella is lucky enough to have found people who care for her and are willing to shower her with love that she deserves. We would like to help them by making this possible and showing support.
Lucinda, our black lab and shepherd mix, with her long flowy hair first met her owner on a quick walk. pent up frustration and energy made her so difficult to handle that she ran lose in excitement.
We showed the young man interested in her, hoow to best walk with her and within minutes the initial problems were solved.
Lucinda now found a home with someone who will take her running every day and gets to hang out with her owner at work.
How cool is that?
Rudi the huge yellow lab mix found a home at the same time as Buster and surprisingly enough, with Busters owners brother.
because his new owner was just moving to a new home, he had to wait a bit to be picked up.
We hope that his new home is as wonderful as we think it is.
Just this past weekend we found Buster a home. he was so full of energy and as a black lab mix, it was difficult for the prospective owner to handle him.
After a few guidelines we provided, the lady was happy to adopt him on the spot.
Unfortunately, he was gone so fast, we never got to take a picture of him.
Good Luck Buster
He has been renamed and lives in a very nice house with a sweet owner who tries very hard to find a way to drain Nacho of his energy and make life more possible!
Congrats, hope we see you at a social soon.
Pongo the Dalmatian has a tremendous day at Walmart's offsite adoption. He had been found stray and been at the shelter for almost 3 weeks, when Chantelle, our teen volunteer took him for a quick walk. On their walk together they found a 5 leaf clover that Chantelle dedicated to him so he could find a home.
Within 20 minutes of this treasure find, Pongo was found by his new owner who had been looking for a Dalmatian for months. He was the first dog to leave that day-thanks to the good luck clover.
Tyson, a sweet Shar-Pei Mix was brought back by his family after about a year in his new home. The family had decided that he was to big. It was difficult to watch this sweet guy sit in the cages every day with all the other dogs, not knowing why he was there and where his family was.
When maverick and Tyson first met, they didn't get along, but soon were best of friends. They went to the fair together in the hopes of finding a new home. Without success.
As with Maverick, Tyson was already scheduled as both of them had been at the shelter way too long and he was lucky enough to find a home with a sweet lady and her female shepherd mix, the same day as Maverick.
Maverick the 1 year old Pitbull was found wandering the streets. Two days before his scheduled death, Maverick was lucky enough to finally find a home with a 9 yr old boy and his family.
Maverick had been trying so hard by learning how to walk properly, by going to several events in the metroplex and yet he came so close to his end.
This sweetheart deserved to live and we hope he does live to the fullest!
