Paws Up For Change has four dogs and we often foster a dog from the shelter for purposes of rehabilitation or training, sometimes simply to preserve a life. All of them in their own way have different abilities and accomplishments. We strive to continue their learning process and observe a strict daily work out & basic obedience routine for all of them. We do not crate our dogs (except on car rides) and strive to be pack leaders at all times to allow for a solid pack structure in our home. This requires a constantly alert observation of the pack and thorough understanding of their body language. (All Pack rankings are given to dogs only, asserting that all humans in and outside of our pack rank higher than any of our dogs)

ZOE- Boxer/Basset Mix (Temperament:
Zoe was a rescue that came from an abusive home. When we first got her, we couldn't touch her or broom our house without letting her outside. She was so severely stressed by mistrust in people that she had lost patches of her coat all over her body. Over a year veterinarians tried to solve her coat issues but it happened one her trust in us was fully established.
Zoe came a long way since. She is now our most adorable pet in the home with the biggest achievements. At almost 12 years of age by now, she is confirmed healthy and in great physical condition. Her academic achievements include training and certification as a Canine Good Citizen and a certification through Therapy Dogs Intl.. Her job is visiting people in need of companionship and therapy.

Speedy is Zoe's son and 9 years old. His father was a Beagle/Pitbull mix. He is currently in training for Canine Good Citizen and started his training as a service dog to find black powder.

Max, our daughter's Pitbull of 5 years of age.
He is the lover of the family and will kiss you to death if you let him. Max has never had any problems with socialization or behavior other than obsessing over his ball and not wanting to share. He is by nature a dominant dog and we understand this offering him the correct balance he requires for a happy life within the pack. He goes on daily bike rides with our daughter and enjoys swimming on any occasion he can. He loves visiting with people and is a certified Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog. His handler is his owner Chantelle, 15 yrs, old and his job is visiting schools, and hospitals to help kids get better. He is a true ambassador of his breed. To add to his resume, he now started his training as a narcotics detection dog which he enjoys very much.

Jessie, our youngest of the pack at 3 years old.(She is a Belgium Malinois-yellow Labrador Mix and has always enjoyed a special bond to the group organizer Nicole. Jessie by nature is not a social butterfly and excels greatly at obedience that allows her to feel safe in her environments. She is in training for Human Remains Detection. We are hoping to certify within the following year through NASAR.
